Siobhan Wescott, MD, MPH, an endowed professor of American Indian health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, serves as immediate past chair on the Minority Affairs Section Governing Council at the American Medical Association.

The MAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.

Dr. Wescott had previously served two terms as the Association of American Indian Physicians representative to the AMA. An Athabascan from Fairbanks, Alaska, Dr. Wescott has devoted her career to increasing Native representation in the health care workforce, especially as physicians.
