On Nov. 6, 2026, the Resident and Fellow Section will hold elections for a seat on its governing council and the endorsement of resident candidates for positions on the AMA Board of Trustees, Council on Constitution and Bylaws, Council on Medical Education and Council on Medical Service. In addition to these elections, the section will select sectional delegates and alternate delegates to represent the best interests of residents and fellows in the House of Delegates.

The RFS Assembly will endorse a candidate for each open resident seat on the AMA Board of Trustees board and three councils for the election taking place at the House of Delegates (HOD) in June 2027. Any and all candidates may wish to continue their candidacy at the HOD, regardless of whether they receive this endorsement from the Resident and Fellow Section.
